Lions Gate a time for focused thoughts, beliefs and intentions.
Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed because everything moves fast. July felt a little bit like that for me. I am curious about how August usually feels. I love the shift of energy. Some days feel like very early Spring and if the need for quiet times and less pushing is there, we should listen to our body and soul. I guess the reason why I mention this is because once we hit Spring time we subconsciously raise our energy levels and then it feels like a rush to get out of hibernation as soon as possible.
Did you know that August 8 is one of the most important dates in the astrological world?
It’s known as the peak of the Lion’s Gate Portal, a fertile ground for manifestation. Celebrated by many ancient cultures, this day was considered as the marker of a new year and a moment for new resolutions.
To be precise, this year the portal opens on 28 July and closes on 12 August. The high time is on August 8.

The Lion’s Gate Portal is the moment where the Sun in Leo is in alignment with three important celestial markers, Sirius, Orion’s Belt and Earth. It happens when Sirius "rises" or becomes visible again due to the Sun's yearly passing of the star.
Why is this significant? Well, Sirius (the Alpha star of the Canis Major constellation) is the brightest star in the sky.
It's astrologically considered to be a spiritual sun. Sirius was an extremely important body to the Ancient Egyptians, who referred to it as the goddess Sopdet. They used the annual rising of this star to note when the Nile would begin its annual flood, feeding the land and bringing harvest and fertility.
In astrology, Sirius brings wealth, abundance, fortune and fame. As such, our alignment with this auspicious body means it is an excellent time for manifestation. The full breadth of the Lion's Gate Portal period ,26 July - 12 August, is considered spiritually significant. But, the peak of the Lion's Gate Portal falls on August 8 for a few reasons. The numerology of 8/8 is considered extremely powerful, in fact it is the most powerful of all combinations. Additionally, this date is the Sun's movement to the half way point of Leo, a season associated with boldness and confidence. Of course, the Sun is also the ruler of Leo. So, in this moment, everything truly is in alignment physically and spiritually.
In my own experience it is really important to ground, and also carry out mindfulness practices and mediation. It sounds like a pretty straight forward plan, but is a bit more complex than that.
I find that in this window of pre- energy and portal energy of Lions Gate, it is about knowing how to set clear intentions. You need to know why you are doing what you are doing.. Why do you do it? Focus on aligning with the positive energy within yourself., then allow yourself to feel the presence of the moon, stars and planets. Perhaps, let your curiosity take you to your astrology chart and explore the meaning of planets, stars and alignment to you. The planets and zodiac’s interplay can create change, challenges or opportunities. But ultimately, how you embrace and enhance the circumstance that the Cosmos gives out to you, is up to you.
So is it with special yearly events like Lions Gate, Solstices and Mercury Retrograde. Whatever you put in and align to will show up. Remember you are the champion of your destiny.

As I sit outside writing, with the sun on my back I enter the flow. I didn't plan this, neither do I have to put this on my goal or to do list. Things unfold naturally.
